WHAT'S ON IN SOUTHBANK
Streets Beach
Streets Beach is a South Bank icon and a must-visit while you’re in the Parklands. As Australia’s only inner-city, man-made beach, boasts a sparkling lagoon surrounded by white, sandy beaches and sub-tropical plants. Streets Beach is free to use and is patrolled by qualified lifeguards all year round.
City Sounds
This takes place on the lawn immediately adjacent to Stanley House! I stumbled across this when I was having an early dinner. Australia’s largest free live music program, City Sounds, is on each Saturday from 3pm at South Bank. Presenting local and touring bands and artists, City Sounds, which originated in the Queen Street Mall before expanding to several other locations across Brisbane, has been a big hit and is the perfect way to spend a relaxing Saturday Afternoon.
The Collective Markets and Southbank Christmas Markets
Held over 3 days every weekend in Stanley Plaza in South Bank from Friday night through to Sunday afternoon, the
Collective Markets
at South Bank attract Brisbanites and tourists alike. With an eclectic mix of original art, photography, unique gifts, trending fashion and vintage clothing, as well as foodie stalls and live music, the Collective Markets are a vibrant cultural melting pot set in the artisan's heart of Brisbane.

Channel 7 - Wheel of Brisbane
This must see attraction provides something for everyone, young or old, tourist or local and is a “must do” for anyone in Brisbane. The giant observation wheel offers a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view of Brisbane City from the heart of Brisbane’s cultural, lifestyle and entertainment precinct, The Parklands, South Bank. Unrivalled for its view, a ride on the Wheel of Brisbane is an uplifting experience that will take you almost 60 metres above the ground in the safety and comfort of a fully enclosed air-conditioned capsule.
